The idea that started it all...
I created my personal branding with the objective of beginning my journey as a professional graphic designer.
A theme that really resonates with me is following one’s dreams. I dream of becoming a successful graphic designer and illustrator, and since I know how being really passionate about a goal feels like, I would love to help others chase their own dreams. How, you ask? For example, if someone were to start a business, I would aid with creating their brand identity, promotional materials, and other related projects they need to get more attention.
With that in mind, I began thinking about things I associated with dreaming. Beginning with clouds, maybe a moon… but no. This wasn’t about sleeping.
This was about having a hope, an aspiration, a wish.
And then it came to me...
“I'll shape my logo like a shooting star!”
The Sketching Process
I made many, many iterations. It did take me some time to find something that felt right.
Trying different layouts I finally found my main logo. Something that represented dreaming big, while communicating that I’m a designer. After all, graphic designers use the pen tool a lot in Adobe Illustrator.
Psychology of Color

Entrepreneurship
I wanted to choose colors associated with entrepreneurs. They’re the kind of people I’d love to help the most. I know they have big goals and aspirations, which is a theme I want my brand to follow.
Seeing the meaning of the colors below together, it all fell into place. Not only do they represent what I want to transmit with my brand, but they’re also a complementary color scheme on their own (click the color wheel for more information).
Neutral Colors
Then, I thought it would be nice to add neutral colors to the mix. Black, white and grey.
Branding manual and materials
Having the logo designed, it was a great source of inspiration for other brand elements. I created a branding manual, depicting different versions of my logo, the colors I would use, the icons, patterns, textures, and fonts. And from those newly generated resources, I was able to create a business card and a letterhead for my brand. Aside from the fonts, and mockup templates, I created every asset here.
